    Medicare Health Savings Account

I just filed for disability and will not qualify for Medicare until July 2020. I currently have a Health Savings Account from my previous job. I am 55 years old.

I read that a person who is 65 cannot contribute to an HSA plan if they are Medicare. They can be on Medicare and use the HSA for premiums. It did not say anything about anyone being under 65 and on SSDI.

Can I use that HSA account to pay for Medicare premiums once I am on Medicare in 2020 while being on SSDI and being 57 years old?
