Therapeutic Mattress

We have a Sleep Number King Flex Top and we are having problems with it losing air all the time. We are ready to switch to something more dependable. My doctor has written a script for a new Therapeutic Mattress. We are looking at the Tempur-Pedic mattresses. What kind of mattress do you use?

This article from Craig Hospital confirms what I have read either here, online, publications, etc. Tempur-Pedic mattress can sleep hot and can make transfers difficult. I don't know, I've not tried one. That said, I have a Sleep Number bed too. I haven't had trouble with it retaining air, but I am experiencing breakage of the plastic hinges between the wooden plates that support the raise/lower function the head and foot of the bed, particularly the head of the bed.

I think I have a solution for the problem, I just have to convince the lovely NL to play mechanic.

I honestly don't know why it won't hold air. We will set it at my number 35 and within one day when I get out of bed my butt leaves a big hole. My wife had a Tempur-Pedic mattress and said she never got hot. I would have to make sure I get one that isn't to soft. That would make it very difficult to get ready and to get out of bed.

Not all memory foam mattresses are the same. Some memory foam mattresses include a cooling component that keeps the bed cooler than just memory foam alone.

I had a Tempur-Pedic Rhapsody. While it worked great for pressure relief, it did sleep hot. Also, after a few years it did develop a "hole" from where I slept. I now have a Sleep Number. Thus far I've had no ssues (going on 2+ years).

I have a Sleep Number. Unfortunately I have to constantly adjust my sleep number because it loses air very quickly and develops a hole. I'm going to look around and see what is out there.
