    Shirt alterations

Not sure exactly where to post this, but...I'm 6'4", 189 lbs, so by no means am I overweight. However, because of my lovely quad belly, I have a difficult time finding shirts that fit properly. I've begun buying XXL, and even then, they can be snug around the mid-section. I was wondering (for button down shirts, as I tend to wear these to work), has anyone cut a slit up the back, that would then allow it to fit more loosely in the mid-section?

Thanks, but I do already buy tall sizes. The length is not so much the issue. I appreciate the feedback though!

Have you tried shirts from "big and tall" men's stores, either on-line or at an actual store? Here are some examples:

Also, there is clothing designed for "elderly disabled" people that opens in the back that you could try. I would imagine you could leave the bottom snaps/closures open.

There's a commercial that I've seen run every so often called mtailor, it measures from your phone...this site gave a review. A few others came up when I did a search for the name.

I have a few button up dress shirts that I had a slit cut up the back and then a pleat of matching fabric sewn in. It’s a great way to let the shirt fit nicely around the shoulders and quad belly.
