I thought that started the "ordered" clock, but now, they got back to me and told me I need another appointment for a Dr's visit and a "letter of medical necessity"! which I had 12/22.
So, a year wait BEFORE even ordering the fucking thing which has several compromises in addition to being aluminum. (My last new chair was Ti, 2006)
If you're going to fuck me, could you please make it quick??!
    Maybe by spring?
Also, I made it painfully clear to the vendor and DME hub that I'm happy to order a 5th chair in titanium and have cash in hand but they continue to sit on hands! WTF??!!
At this point I'll wait for the Medicare alu and see it fits well, then I'll go to war on the 5th chair.
Part of the problem is probably that I want to re-use the Spox wheels, 2month old back-shell, and the axle from chair #2 (2001), a Ti TR/c with a cracked frame. They're happy to sell me a full chair but delete a few $$$ parts, and go fuck yourself! I recently paid DME hub ~$500 for new axle and mountings and hard back shell!
    REALLY FRUSTRATED!!

Just received this from my PT who is being super helpful, who is at some kind of PT conference.

Wondering if anyone has put a letter together or is interested in putting something together for senators and congressmen?

They also have no work around for getting Medicare to cover the titanium or allow you to cover the titanium upgrade. So frustrating. Call your congressman (no joke), and just put in your two cents that this new change is blocking access to your ability to even SELF-pay for your features. Your input seriously does make a difference.

What change is she talking about? What did she have to say about the ABN and why that is no longer an option?

well had the eval we are going with a tilite aero z matrix elite back, roho cushion and actually the same person who saw mw for my first chair in 2009 also did this one. so we had quite a bit to catch up with.lol i also found out i have a bit of scoliosis go figure she said that is why my body and back hurts after sitting for awhile i guess that explains it. so we are going for the matrix back instead this time. to give me some lateral support as well. she also said the next chair if we need to i can get a deeper back if i want to but she thought the 3' one would be enough. with some side laterals as well. she said all in all expect at least a 3 month wait maybe more if medicare gives them a hard time. and she has seen it since i do walk a bit in the house for excerise.

i was told today that under no circumstances would medicare cover titanium for anyone! and in fact most insurance companies aren't even covering it anymore.
