    What to do in Cancun?

There is Chichen Itza. What else? Can one get near the pools at Cabo in a wheelchair?

Cabo is not in Cancun. It is completely on the other side of Mexico, on the Baja Peninsula. Chichen Itza is about a 2.5 hour drive from Cancun as well. To get there from Cancun, you would need to either rent a car or hire a cab, or take a tour, but most tour buses do not have a lift. You can also visit the ruins in Tulum and Xei-Haor take a day trip out to the Isle de Mujeres.

Here is a recent review of 5 different resorts in Cancun regarding their wheelchair accessibility. Note that none of them have pool lifts, but you may be able to transfer to the deck and then into the pool if you have a strong floor transfer.

This is the only company I know of that offers wheelchair accessible airport transfers and tours in Cancun:

but I also found these on-line (no experience with them though):

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.

Do you know if it's possible to get to Isle de Mujeres in a wheelchair? It's been ages and a few hurricanes since we were there, and I was paying no attention to access. But at that time you had to be pretty limber.
I have had periodic paralysis all my life. I lost my ability to walk in 2011 beginning with a spinal block, which was used for a hip fracture caused by periodic paralysis.
