Will SCI 'Cure' Come From MS etc R&D?

I wonder if it's more likely that what will help sci will come out of research and development for better funded diseases like MS or Spinal Bifida or something that's more common than sci. Is there a treatment for such diseases in the works that could then be prescribed to help our spasticity or paralysis? SCI research just sounds promising all the time, but never crosses the finish line...Jan

Because MS is considered an autoimmune disease, a good amount of the research taking place for MS is related to blocking this immune response or identifying the trigger for the immune response to occur. Unlikely that this line of research will be very helpful for those with traumatic SCI.
