    CRISPR question

I am trying to learn about crispr and it's potential to Specifically affect chronic spinal cord injury, does anyone have any literature or a link
I mean the only stuff that I know about crispr is pretty general or about other maladies

Radiolab did a couple really good episodes on CRISPR http://www.radiolab.org/story/antibodies-part-1-crispr/

That being said a spinal cord injury is not Cancer or a genetic problem, it is an injury. Unless you could identify a DNA sequence in mammals that repairs damaged nerves I don't see CRISPR helping SCI.

I saw an article that was linked in this site and scientists found how geckos get a brand new spinal cord when their tail detaches it.

Cells driving gecko's ability to re-grow its tail identified

That is the impression that I had causing me to post the original query

I am thinking maybe to put it simply, I gather that using crispr has the potential to edit genes. So I guess that could mean that crispr could potentially edit the genes to allow the spinal cord to self heal itself but I dunno how it's potential could differ between an acute and chronic injury where a "scar" mechanically impedes regeneration... So would it be for acutes only... And how is crispr or what it does administered

My thoughts on this are CURRENTLY basic ones, I know... Thats why I am trying to learn about it
