    20 years

I broke my back 20 years ago today. At the time my life felt so changed that it felt like it had ended. Since then I have had some bad days but also some very good days; something that doubtless would have been the same had I not broken my back.
Sometimes when I see my reflection, me in a wheelchair, it still comes as a bit of a shock to recognise how things have changed. I also know that change is part of life and that despite my initial reaction, I have a life to get on with.

What a difference 20 years can make. For me it was a lot of changes in attitude and education. Add the aging process in and it was relearning things with physical changes. Life does go on and with a positive attitude to get on with it things really do go much easier. Keep up with the positive attitude.
