    Brace/splint to prevent bicep contracture

My left bicep/arm has been drawing up lately and unless someone is there to straighten it out, it gets painful.

Do they make a brace or splint that would be wearable for hours each day to prevent this. I used to have an inflatable cast thing for exercise, but that was 20+ years and it wasn't something that you could wear for very long.

This would be an elbow extension splint. Best fit to you by an orthtist or OT, but you can also find them off the shelf.

There are soft splints to help with this, but they may not be enough if you have already developed some degree of contracture, or have strong spasms in your biceps:

If you already have some degree of contracture, and need a heavier splint to stretch this out, you may need one like these, and may need to use a progressive, dynamic feature:!prettyPhoto

Be careful using such splints with your skin. Apply for no more than two hours, and check the skin when removing. Don't reapply if you have any non-blanching red marks. I have also seen these cause AD in those who are vulnerable to that.

Thanks. I can stretch it out to full extension so an off the shelf brace would likely work.
