For the OP, it would be a big help if you would complete your profile. Including what country or state/province in which you live makes it much easier to determine resources to share with you.

The SCI-Nurses are advanced practice nurses specializing in SCI/D care. They are available to answer questions, provide education, and make suggestions which you should always discuss with your physician/primary health care provider before implementing. Medical diagnosis is not provided, nor do the SCI-Nurses provide nursing or medical care through their responses on the CareCure forums.

Roho toilet seat cushions work well, although the straps that attach them to the toilet seat can be a weak point and rip off if you drag during your transfer.

An over-toilet frame like the ActiveAid one above may also be an option. The 201/202 model is better for travel and is better padded, although both are good:

You can also get toilet seat raisers that attach to the bowl, like the Lumex. Bulkier, but can be taken with you for travel.

Keep in mind that if you are flying, and pack your toilet equipment in it's own bag, you can check or carry-on this bag with no extra charge by claiming it as medical equipment. It does not count against your allowance for either checked or carry-on luggage.
