    Open cystostomy

I am scheduled to have an open cystostomy this week to remove bladder stones. When they tried to break them up with a laser, they said that there were too many of them they were too large and hard them that way. They would have to be surgically removed.

    Has anyone had this procedure?
    How did it go?
    What is the recovery time?

Many people on this forum have had this done. It can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to start feeling good - that is partly due to the anesthesia. But I promise you that you will feel better without them.

    Good luck!
