How Google Chrome tracks your activity & How to stop it

It's no secret that Google knows a lot about you. It recently made headlines when the internet realised every time someone speaks to Google, it records their voice. And you can listen back to it. But that isn't the only bit of Google data that users with the right know-how can track down.

One of the more interesting places to check out what Google really knows about you is to head over to its ad settings page where (if you're signed into your Google account) you'll see a profile Google? Go to link

I use Firefox for my browser and DuckDuckGo for searching in what is most likely a futile attempt to maintain some privacy.

There is nothing you can do to stop being tracked. A elegant solution to this is to just create a lot of fake data. There are a couple plugins like this: https://noiszy.com/

They basically generate random search queries, go to random sites, etc. Your "real" traffic gets masked in the noise.

    Interesting plugin, thanks T8.

I don't have much to hide but I dislike paying my ISP to profit from my data.

    Chrome tracking

Slimjet is a Chrome clone that will sync across devices but does not require Google sign-in and has other privacy features.
