    Wearable Therapy ? awesome!

    Wearable Therapy
After eight years of being a quadriplegic, my muscles have atrophied to about nothing. This of course does terrible things to my overall health. Pain in my shoulders and joints, along with making me more vulnerable to pressure ulcers (of which I have had several). I have tried several different products to increase blood flow and add some muscle mass to my body. I had no success until I found out about the company Axiobionics. Another quadriplegic I know had been using the product and definitely increased his muscle mass. I started out with the shorts because I thought they would help me heal one of my pressure ulcers. The increased blood flow to the area and stimulation to the muscles I believe were key factors in it healing. My wound Dr. thought it was a help as well. I know that I increased muscle mass in my quadricep because I could see it with my own eyes. I have since bought the lower leg sleeves, and a vest that goes along my spinal cord with electrodes. My goal with that one is to keep my back straight so that I don?t end up hunched over. The wearable therapy products are individually produced so they fit perfect. Dr. Philip Muccio is the creator of the product. He also personally measured and delivered the pieces to make sure they worked. You won?t find better customer service than that. I can?t say enough about how pleased I am with this company. Unfortunately insurance doesn?t cover these products. Insurance only covers after you have a problem, not something that could prevent it!

Here is another one that has been around awhile. I believe they are in Germany. I contacted them via email and they told me they have not evaluated it in a medical setting just as a performance enhancement in able bodied athletes.

They are pretty expensive unfortunately. My shorts were $12,000. I do think they were worth it, and I was lucky enough to have fundraisers that paid for them.

Those products, at least the smart e pants, look similar. I know these are available right now and work great. Not to mention, that these are custom fit to your individual body, and personally tested[on you] by someone from the company. Mine were brought to my house, and my parents were shown how to put them on, and work them. I'm all for anything we can get to prevent these darn pressure sores that have made my life hell!
