Not a new drug. Dysport (first FDA approved in 2009) is a form of botulinum toxin-A (like Botox) that has not previously been FDA approved for use for muscle spasticity in children, although a number of physicians have used it off-label. It is now (as of 12/16) approved for use in children over the age of 2. It has been approved for some time for facial (cosmetic) use, and for upper extremity spasticity in adults.
