Like an idiot I thought I could man handle a carpet shampooer, after about 10 minutes I realized it was just to heavy for me (63yr old C5/6 incomplete) and stopped. Within about an hour I was having lots of upper arm/shoulder pain. The shoulder pain has calmed down but the upper bicep is giving me a lot of grief, hopefully it's just a strain and not a torn muscle or ligament . I can still transfer, with a fair amount of discomfort, but the biggest problem is when I try to pull on something, like lift my leg to put my foot on the foot rest. I can manage that but I don't think I'll be able to pull my leg up far enough to get my pants on. Since I live alone, that's going to be a real problem.
Has anyone ever had this happen? Any tips on speeding up recovery. As you all know, when your in a wheelchair there's no way not to use your arm, so I can't just put my arm in a sling until it heals.
Thanks
