Cleaning out caster bearings is a pain in the ass, so I leave it to the last moment as it is, which makes cleaning the bearings a bigger pain!
plus would be nice to have a small compact tool you could carry with for when you traveled etc..

A deep socket (or tube plus washer), machine screw (cap or hex) plus nut plus a suitable heavy washer. Plus suitable tools ( shifter, R&OE or such). All in a small bag and you have a cheap, effective puller.
Or a hammer, pin punch and a judicious approach.

True, but if you can operate a screwdriver you can use a slide hammer.

when I was younger (in a previous life -1990') I was a skateboards and parts vendor.
There was in my catalog a bearing press puller.
I've googled it and ? It's still on the market !

Not sure it can do the job if your casters are aluminium core and aluminium bearing housing.
If they are polycarbonate or polyurethane,? it can be doable.

I was a skate guard at a roller rink. I used that tool often

I had forgotten about it. I loved to skate - one of my big losses

Thanks.. wonder if that has the leverage/power necessary to pull the tight bearings out of aluminum casters etc. ??

the side plates could be modified to take the larger diameter caster wheels for pressing them back into place.

Are you talking about removing Caster Stem bearings (1/2") or Caster wheel bearings (5/16")?
