    Coloplast Self-Cath Straight Intermittent Catheter

Bard Magic 3, indeed, sucks. They are way too dry, even with the included water and additional lubricant.

That typed, a near exact replacement to the Magic 3, without the antiseptic and water lubricant, is the Coloplast Self-Cath Straight Intermittent Catheter (Item No: 76414, HCPCS Code: A43510).

Using the Coloplast intermittent catheter and Astroglide (or any water soluble lubricant) is a painless, under-a-minute self-catherization undertaking.

The introduction of catheters to the urethra does lead to urinary tract infections, no matter brand of catheter used. Cipro, in this instance, is your friend. Bactrim, Keflex, Augmentin, not so much. But then, every *body* is different and your results may vary.
