Question Gloves just for Bowel Care?

Does anyone make a soft glove for just bowel care? Something like a condom rubber glove. The digital stims are very bothersome. And for some reason Lidocaine causes me more discomfort when i use it.

What kind of gloves are you using now?

Nitrile powder free examination gloves are probably your best option.

I use Latex powder free, and I lubricate with flax seed oil or apricot seed oil on the fingertips. Once, a friend accidentally brought me Nitrile powder free. Although they feel 'soft' to the touch, they don't slip in and out of the anus as easily as the Latex does. The Nitrile felt like it was ripping up the skin on my anus, so, of course, I hastened to get more Latex gloves to use in my bowel program. There were plenty of other household uses for the Nitrile gloves.

Because of latex allergies/sensitivities, the medical industry is trending away from latex products. You may not have problems now, but latex allergies and sensitivities can occur after years of exposure.

There are various grades of nitrile gloves. Not all nitrile gloves are medical grade. Medical grade would include those labeled "exam," "examination." or "surgical" gloves.

Exactly NOT my experience. ;-) I used Nitrile "Examination" gloves (BlueNitrile by Dynarex) and found them too harsh for my bowel program.

I buy Flexal Feel Powder-Free Nitrile Exam Gloves manufactured by Cardinal Health. The fingertips are textured.

Maybe it is the textured fingertips that cause the problem described above. I wonder if a surgical glove that is meant to be a close to natural skin would work better than those labeled surgical gloves.
