Prednisone is a powerful steroid anti-inflammatory. Taking it long term can result in multiple side effects including increased risks for infections, electrolyte imbalances, and even triggering the onset of Type II Diabetes. I would definitely not recommend this use for chronic pain management, and any physician or provider who would prescribe it for this would certainly be negligent in doing so. Sorry.

I'm only on it for 1 week. i was just wondering if it was a coincidence that my ribs feel better on it.

After you finish it, try Naproxen 500 mg twice a day- take with food. It is also an anti-inflammatory but not a steroid.Make sure your kidney functions are normal.
Too many side effects from Prednisone- Diabetes, bone issues etc.. and should be used sparingly when needed.
