    Golf Cart help!!

    Hey Guys and Gals,
I recently moved to Myrtle Beach and where I live golf carts are very popular. I want to get one, but I'm not sure exactly how it would work. This is not to play golf, but to get from one place to the other. I am C7 so I can transfer on my own. Has anyone ever bought a golf cart and rigged it up to for you? I think if I make the arm rest removable then I can transfer on the seat. What I don't know what to do is with my chair? I was wondering if anyone has seen a rig or something that will hold my chair somewhere while I drive it. I was thinking something hooked on the side or back. Someone has to have seen or used something like this before. Any help or ideas would be great. Thanks!

Do you want to keep the chair together, or take it apart? If you can add a platform on the back, you could do something similar for pulling the chair up like I did here: youtube.com/watch?v=0KgyWxqC1Y0

Maybe the Chariot Solo would work better for you. Of course, it is quite a bit more expensive.

This shows one option for carrying your wheelchair along:

If, instead of transferring, you would like to drive from your wheelchair, here are some options:

Clayton, I have an old Club Car that I used, and sometimes still do, for hunting. I had handcontrols but when they broke, I yanked hem and never replaced them. I'm C5-6 and elevate m chair to transfer. I took off both of the seat base mounted side rests, and replaced it with these fold down arm rests. That allows me to have something to lean my arm against when driving, and obviously keep me IN the golf cart. Each side also has a round mount that I can put my gun rest on and shoot from either side. You'd only need something on the drivers side but any machine or welding shop could hook you up. My yellow lab Ammo likes riding in it, and just hanging out on it.

Thanks guys. Some good ideas. I met with a golf cart guy this week who can install hand controls in a golf cart. I just need to figure out how/where to put my chair. I can't break it down so I just want to "hook" it somewhere while I drive. He says he has some id as.

We use to have a golf cart and loved it. Big off road tires, stereo fun to drive!
