Have any quads here had a nerve transfer to regain some use of the arms and hands?

I dunno what the right forum for this question would be so I just posted it here

Do any quads here have experience or know anybody that has had experience with nerve transfer surgery for the upper extremeties?

It has been close to 10 months and I am seeing quite a few changes.

Most notably my finger extensors are beginning to work.

Flexors do not yet work so I have not gained any real functionality yet.

This is the natural progression of how it is supposed to come back.

My injury was September 1, 2015 and I am C7.

I will try to elaborate more later or feel free to send me a private message any more questions.

i am c456 and I am wondering if it can make me independent at all so I don't need to have someone do absolutely everything for me. I will inquire at the e-mail address that you provided...while you were there did you hear about or know about anyone with my level of injury undergoing the procedure?

I did not specifically hear anything about your injury level but did not ask.

I do anticipate being able to gain a significant additional functionality.

I think it would definitely be worth looking into.

What they are looking for is a "donor" nerve that is typically from the bicep.

If you have good bicep functionality then you would most likely be a good candidate.

I do not understand why more people do not take advantage of it.

To me it was a no brainer.

The functionality I am expecting to get back should make a big difference.
