    Sudden increase in bladder spasms?

I've been stable on 10mg Oxybutinin for a year but this week I've been experiencing leakage at volumes below my urodynamic limits. No fever, no sores. Prostate/sphincter feels a bit swollen during IC.

What other things could trigger this?

I would get a urinalysis and culture/sensitivity. Sometimes you can have an infection that does not produce a fever, but does produce bladder hyper irritability. Recently I was having similar problems, but felt basically okay and the colony count (CFU) was over 100,000. Typically in people that catheterize positions expect colonization, but like to see it below 10,000 I believe.

I've got a call in to my urologist. Also started Nasacort about the same time and have seen a very low incidence of hypertonic bladder as a side effect.

Nasacort is an inhaled cortitcosteroid, which can increase your risks for infection, and can sometimes suppress normal signs/symptoms of infection. I would also endorse getting a urine culture done even if you don't have other symptoms. Talk to your urologist. If it has been a while since your last urodynamics, you probably should have these repeated as well.

Urodynamics were only a couple months back. How often should they be repeated?

    I'll get a urinalysis asap.

Is there an inhaled allergy spray that is better?

Make sure the order the doctor gives to you is for a urinalysis (UA) that will be followed up with a culture & sensitivity (C&S) if bacteria is present in the specimen. In some labs, a C&S won't be done unless it is specified in the doctor's order in addition to a UA.

Roger that gjnl. Both my uro and my GP are good about doing this. I'm fortunate they're both up to snuff with regards to utilize and SCI.

UA was clean. Next step is investigating potential prostate irritation/enlargement. Seeing urologist tomorrow (finally).
This continues to be very frustrating.

    Still need help.
UA clean so urologist upped my oxybutynin from 10 to 20 mg, but I'm still having leaks.

    Any ideas?

Did your urologist have any ideas 2/16/17, except increasing oxybutynin?

I've read on this site that changing anticholinergics may help. So if you are taking oxybutynin, try Enablex (Darifenacin), Detrol (Tolterodine), or Sanctura (Trosplum).

    Sorry for all your trouble.
