It's time to look into a new sports chair for my son (age 13, T6 Complete, scoliosis but very flexible in his spine, and bloody long arms!). Current favourite sport is badminton, but he has played pretty much every sport he can, and I can see him continuing to play several sports as he gets older. He's used a Motivation chair for the last 5-6 years (very cheap sports chair, made in China, distributed via U.K., has been very good value).
I'm thinking that Invacare's Top End Pro-2 All Sport Wheelchair, with the Freewheel add-on option looks pretty good, as he does a small amount of 4-5km road races during the year too (he already has a freewheel and uses it for those races with his Icon day-chair). https://bike-on.com/invacarer-top-en...s_tab_products
Whilst I know there are lighter chairs around, I don't think we should be specialising too much at this stage, particularly as he is still growing (although I can't believe that he will grow much more in length - his arm span is already longer than mine!)
Does anyone have the Pro-2? Any positive/negative reviews? Any other chairs we should look at? (Note that there is no chance of getting a demo here in Australia, so it will be an on-line purchase when we make a decision).
