    Core question

    I see a lot of people using this blue thing behind them while practicing situps: What is the main purpose of this and does this progress to nothing behind the back and trying to sit up from laying all the way back?

    It's called a Bosu balance trainer.

    The way they nave it set up in the video, it appears the purpose is both to keep the angle of the back more acute and give the patient some "bounce- back" to upright sitting when they lean backwards on the wedge.
