Have your DME check on the cables going to the battery for a good tight connection and try a different charger to test.

Might have a bad cell I went through 2 sets of MKs both had bad cells!
My DME says of late he has had problems with MK batteries not holding up a year to. MK changed something now you get a crappy battery. Keep the price the same but make a cheaper battery. Seems like everything these days are junk to start off with.

For those that have hand pain, especially thumb joint pain, you may want to consider the body point dome joystick handle. It's shaped like a mushroom and distributes the pressure across a broader area and removes it from the webspace between the thumb and index finger. It also decreases the throw distance one needs to move the joystick in any direction and therefore decreases the effort needed.

Regarding art454's experience with this new Permobil it is sad that we should have such trouble with a new chair. I was not happy with the feel of the new Permobil motors. They are more "whippy" than my C 300 and they do make an annoying sound when starting and stopping.

    Crags,
Is your new chair an m300? There is a tendency for the m300 to caster over steer, which contributes to that "whippy" feeling. Supposedly the "Caster Glide" feature on the new m3 addresses that problem. It will be a little while until that chair is in a broad use population to get some user feedback on this.

Yes those caster are wider than what was on my TDX-SP. Likely contributes to the problem crags spoke of.

What they are trying to do is make the m300....the new m3 like the F3 or F4.

Midwheel chairs are made for tight places like the home and stores. They should get there chairs they have now to work right before they make new ones...Geeezzzz The m3 you need a football field to turn around on.....lol The girl reaching for flowers if I did that I do a face plant right into them. Problem solved there is my funeral flowers......lmao

Have you ridden an m3? I am a former m300 user and a current F3 user. The m3 is so much better ride then the m300 with true suspension like the F series.

Plus the turning is so much smoother then an m300.

I think there is a big misconception on mid wheel being made for tight areas and it was started by the industry.

Pride was a big media hype years ago when everyone was rolling rear wheel drive Blast etc. Then they launched the Q series and the big media hype that mid wheel drive would get you in and out of tight areas etc?

    Which was total BS!

Then the masses left rear wheel and went mid wheel. When I changed to the F series I had someone big at Pride try and tell me all the issues I would have with front wheel drive even my ATP with NuMotion said your going to hate it!

Well laughs on them because a front wheel drive will get me in much tighter areas then a mid wheel drive and with 2 less wheels the ride is smoother and no more bone jarring sidewalk cracks with old technology.

I think Permobil just knows there are users that just are not going to take a leap of faith and try front wheel drive.

So the M3 and soon M5 will be for that group, style comfort and advance seat elevation rolling makes it a game changer.

On the MK issue did your DME give you any idea what they thought the issue was or change?

3rd set in now did a warranty exchange and getting 12 plus miles but in the past was getting 17+

The Medicare cost info for my new M300 is in

DME billed $27,743 (what uninsured must pay)

Medicare allowed $9,478 (what DME gets. This was paid by Medicare and my supplemental ins.)

My expenses: $3,000 for non-Medicare covered seat elevator.

For people with the Permobil power chairs and who got the seat elevator, what is your seat to floor height? I've been told that the lowest you can get is 18.5 inches. However, Permobil tech support and my local Permobil rep said that, barring any unnecessary need for a higher chair due to longer lower leg length length (for footplate clearance), you should be able to get the seat elevator with a 17.5 inch seat to floor height.

Additionally, I was told that the 5? anterior tilt is not possible unless one gets 18.5 inches, which I was also told it is possible to get at 17.5 inches.

It is both frustrating and difficult to have a productive relationship with your wheelchair clinic and seating specialist when you are given certain information and which is contradicted by the power chair company and its regional representative. Some folks don't take this discussion well, equating it with professional distrust, and leading to a most toxic situation.

    Anybody have a similar situation?
