my laminectomy has served it's purpose. it's been 3 years since I had it done. I'm have progressive degeneration in the area of L-2/L-3. I have a fusion at T-12 - L-1. I'm experiencing noticeable numbness in my legs if I 1. sit straight in a chair. 2. stand straight up. due to a failed hardware removal is was left the neurological damage in my right leg and must use crutches to get around.

I was it's an elective surgery by my neurosurgeon, but he recommended a 3 level fusion. I assume it's only considered medically necessary when I lose bowel and bladder control.

I have the procedure scheduled for November, I'd like to know if someone has had similar symptoms and how they progressed. Am I putting it off to long and chancing permanent neurological damage?
