    Antibiotic Shot vs. Pills

Okay, Antibiotic Shot vs. Pills, which one is more affective. My urologist is having me get a shot tomorrow for a uti.

It all depends on which bacteria was identified as causing the urinary tract infection and which antibiotic would be most effective in treating it. Assuming you have had urinalysis (UA) and a culture & sensitivity (C&S) tests and you doctor has reviewed the results and selected the most appropriate treatment, the injection could be the better choice of treatment over oral or IV (intravenous) antibiotic medications.

    All the best,
