    Quad 5-6-7 ?,

    Any1 crafted/routine anything that can get cardio pumping?? All I have is recumbent bike and arm weights..I can get semi breathing hard w/enough arm lifts then course just plain breathing exercises, in n out deep, but, yeah, guess that's the best it gets, orrr, any1 got anything more rigorous/effective?

    Arm ergometer


    Also swimming, hand cycling, rowing, etc.

    Keep in mind that it may be difficult to get the same cardiovascular response to exercise with a tetraplegic injury as an AB doing the same exercise due to the way that the autonomic nervous system is effected by the SCI.

    And be very aware that you could injure your shoulders beyond repair. Arms and shoulders aren't built for the same purpose as legs and hips

    My shoulders become very painful Long before I reach A heart rate high enough for cardiovascular improvement. Gjni is exactly right , Especially if your muscles don't stabilize your shoulder joint properly because some are paralyzed.

    I highley reccommend the vitaglide. I have been using it for several years now and I don't get shoulder pian like I use to with the saratoga cycle. Therabands are good to for mild resistence workout too. Try an strengthen the back of your shoulders and between the shoulder blades this helps stabilizeb the shoulder.

    best way i have found to get my heartrate up is handcycling 2nd is vitaglide. C5-6 here. both great on shoulders. rep
