    Testosterone

Like most males in chairs our test levels drop. My family dr agrees my levels are low for my age but won't start me on test for side effects I won't live long enough to see. I got my hands on liquid test and taking small amounts once a week and love how I feel between mood, energy, sex drive and gaining muscle. My source has dried up now and I'm wondering what to do. I can all ready feel loss of energy and over all drive. Anyone out there done the same, how should I handle it? Live in Canada so it's not like I can shop around till I find a DR willing to help.

Why can't you ask for a referral to a urologist http://www.healthcommunities.com/uri...rologist.shtml or an endrocrinologist http://www.hormone.org/contact-a-hea...ndocrinologist ?
The "g" in gp means general doesn't it? Ask for a specialist to make the decision. I got the same run around years ago when I started T. Now there are new federal regs and I have to be re evaluated every year. Like you I definetly notice my mood and energy when my level drops.
I have had periodic paralysis all my life. I lost my ability to walk in 2011 beginning with a spinal block, which was used for a hip fracture caused by periodic paralysis.

I had my Dr. check mt T and he said I was fine for my age but I started taking Andro400 Max. 2 pills a day and it appears to help. I do notice that after about a month the effects are not as great so I go off it for a few weeks then start taking it again. If you shop around you can find a one month supply 60 pills for around $20.00

Thanks for the info guys. I heard injection are better than pills? Anyone take both to compare the effects. Why would a urologist prescribe test? I never would have asked him but maybe. I go to see my pain specialist next week and see how he feels about it.

I take injections weekly of 200 mg Depo. I too keep my levels high like fuentejps. I feel great at higher levels of 700 and above. Shots are much cheaper too.

Yes, your urologist is the doctor you should be talking to about testosterone. Talk to him.... not your pain doctor.

One possibility that I've found; Horny Goat Weed. From what I've read, its mode of action is to raise testosterone levels. The problem I've had taking this...it gives you more erections...and seriously will make intermittent cath. more difficult. I've tried it twice, and two time I've ended up having a catheter wrap over while putting it in. Two times is a charm. That was the root cause

On thing to think about: I met a gentlemen very early on when I was hurt that was trying to get his wife pregnant. He made a comment to me..."the community thought it was from sitting too much (the low sperm counts) but that's not it, studies have shown." I don't know enough AP to say definitively, but I would suspect the two conditions (low testosterone and low sperm levels) correlate to each other.

What do I always hear weight lifters say that want to build? "To get more testosterone in your body, you have to lift big weights with your large muscles (back, chest, quads.)" "Less cardio."

How much smaller are my arms than my leg muscles are...10x? how much more blood does my heart have to do to get the same result.... so my cardio output is significantly higher using my arms than my legs to do the same work. At the same time I'm not using my legs nearly as much. I wonder if there's ever been a study of 30 paraplegic men who walked in braces daily for 6 months, comparing their testosterone levels to 30 people who did not. 30 ? because statistical significant usually begins at 30 samples.

Anyway, you may want to consider alternatives to taking a supplement or an injection.
