Samsung's S-Voice can be opened by voice command or the screen needs to be tapped twice. The phone must be a Galaxy S3 or newer though. I just purchased a $99 Smart Talk Galaxy S3 but haven't paid the $45 per month cost to use it yet.

First cell phone as where I lived before in the national forest, there was no coverage in our area.

Wrote the wrong name. StraightTalk Wireless offers phones and prepaid plans that have different costs and options. Bought the phone from Walmart and can buy the cards there or order them online. Can also be sent by email. 45 bucks buys 30 days of unlimited talk and text plus data but I'm an amateur when it comes to that.

We can get a lot of lake effect snow and it can be pretty dame cold in the Allegheny National Forest. Had to move down by Pittsburgh because it became difficult to find caregivers after 10 years. However it's a real mess here with home care providers as I'm on my 4th company since April.

Many thanks toyou both. I went with the Motorola MotoX because four different sales guysassured me it would do exactly what I wanted. However, not one technicalsupport guy has been able to tell me how to make it happen. does anyone know forsure whether these things are possible and, if so, how to do them?

How can I set it to just always respond to my voice all day, without having to push a button to tell it to do so every half-hour?
How do I tell it to announce the caller ID information?
How do I tell it to answer?
How do I tell it to let me hear messages as they’re left?
How do I tell it to make a call by just dictating the number?
How do I tell it to make a call that I’ve put in contacts?
Can I import contacts from Skype? Outlook?
    is there a recorderbuilt in?

If you have an Android phone running Google and you have it plugged into a power source, even a power bank, it should respond to voice commands even from the lock screen without touching.
