NE1 Know What's Happening with Muscles in E-Stim?

Was watching the video that Grammy posted in another thread ... I thought muscles turned to fibrous material?

I've heard that from two different researchers.

So what is happening once a signal gets through again?

ETA: And am I correct in assuming none of this works with LMN or flaccid paralysis?

Roses are red. Tacos are enjoyable. Don't blame immigrants, because you're unemployable.

That therapy works similar to using electrical stimulation pads. But instead of having electrode pads on the outside of your muscles they implant little electrodes on the main nerves to your muscles.
For a complete injury I'm assuming it would help regain muscle tone but not function. For an incomplete it could help build muscle strength improving movement.
Sorry I can't answer more for you. I'll ask the next time I talk to them.
