The organism is pseudomonas aeruginosa. If you no longer cath at all one thought would be residual urine after voiding hanging around could cause the infection. Sex can too, as can not wiping carefully. Do you use anything for bladder management or do you go on reflex?

Did you have symptoms? When was the last time you had a bladder infection? and how do you manage your bladder?

Only symptoms are darker than normal urine and my tone/spasms are up somewhat.
I use condom catheter/ legbag my residuals are usually around 100ml after voiding.
I drink tons of water daily.

We would probably not be treating this positive culture, but consider it colonization unless you were actually sick (fever, chills, flank pain, AD, elevated WBC in your blood work, etc.). Keep up the high fluid intake.

By the way, how did you collect this urine specimen? Clean catch? From your drainage bag? Straight cath?
