    Favorite energy bar

What is your favorite energy bar for long rides or for trainning?

I really like Quest bars. Low Calorie, 20 grams of protein, 16 grams fiber, very low sugar. The calories range from 150-200 depending on the flavor you pick.

Well, I tried a friend's bar at my last race but it was kind of gross. But, it did have caffeine in it and that seemed to give me an extra boost. I haven't tried Quest bars yet.

I like the ones you can buy at Decathlon. Cheap, tastes really good and has good amount of energy and protein.

Like Steve, I usually eat real food. If not, I like Luna bars.

I like those too, they have a pretty decent amount of protein in them. An added plus is the owner of the pharmacy across the street from where I live stocks them and sells them at the best price I have ever seen.

I like Quest bars too as a supplement and for the nutritional value stated above. I eat one a day as a bridge meal or sometimes after dinner as a dessert. But I eat plenty of the right food as these are no substitute. Cookies and Cr?me are my favorite.

I have to admit, Cliff bars are probably not very wholesome but they do give me sustained energy on a long ride. I have another race coming up soon and I like to find something that might have caffeine in it. I always train in the afternoon so I have plenty of caffeine in me already but when I do a race, it is early in the morning and I don't drink coffee to minimize bladder output during race. I definitely ride better with caffeine in me.....
