    Well the whole having to send it to the factory, and breaking the warranty, made me kind of paranoid.... and very chicken at attempting it!

    Plus if I take the bent one out and I can't get it back in, I'm kind of snookered! dunno how the bend will effect getting it back in etc..

    Thinking I may try and take the straight one out, later, seeing as you think it's all obvious with no magic tools etc...

    How would you tell a steel bolt from a titanium one ?

    Titanium is not ferrous so not magnetic ?

    * remove the caster wheel

    * remove the nut or bolt that this procedure allows you access to

    * take out that allen bolt you see on the chair frame extension

    * It's all now in your hands

    In the 10 days this thread has been up have you tried at all?

    I'll take mine apart & show pictures as soon as I have a spare moment - super busy with projects, give me a day or so.
