looking for 180? recline Power wheelchair

I haven't posted in a while due to health issues but I am dire need of a power wheelchair that reclines 180? When I transfer to doctors or wherever which is about every month or two the shock that is absorbed by my spine in my van is horrible! I would like to be able to recline all the way in my van when transporting so my spine doesn't absorb all of the shock.
The only two chairs that I see that do this are the Redman which I'm not fond of and the falcon which when I tried to get a demo from my wheelchair provider they said they really didn't care for lending one out for a demo. (sounds like horrible customer service but if I can find one used I don't care my dad does all the fixes on my chair anyway)

does anyone have any input on either A Power mid wheel drive wheelchair that reclines 180?? It would be greatly appreciated!

Even if it's not a mid wheel drive please let me know. I'm getting desperate due to the pain!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

You have several options available. I know that Bounder does a almost flat recline (80 degree back). Amysystems has a similar system on their own power chair, as well as an add on for other chairs. Motion concepts markets a product for many manufactures chairs.

    Good luck

Are you looking to buy a used one, or recommendations on anew one?

Do you know if any of these are mid wheel drive? Off the top of your head? Or if the chair frame could be adapted to one?

My dad does all my wheelchair repairs and pretty much and has saved several thousand dollars in repairs and maintenance on my wheelchairs. He's very ingenious and pretty much can fix anything. One time my wheelchair provider said I would need a new armrest and part of the seating frame. My dad was able to fix it without any cost in parts or otherwise. He's been able to do things like this many times in the past. So if I could just get a 180? recline seating frame that would work for me we may be able to adapt it to my mid wheel drive frontier.

We are looking for another used X5 or v6 Frontier by Innovation In Motion if anyone's got one!

Thanks for the help in my search! I really appreciate it!

If we know your wants (new or used) as well as funding situation or budget, it would be easier to assist you. A good start would be to locate a good seating/DME specialist and see whats available .

To tell you the truth my dad does better at seating and adjustments compared to the "professionals"! They are lousy and have no idea how to even turn a wrench to adjust certain things or what they are doing.
The one medical supplier I have is okay and works with my dad and gives suggestions but in the long run it's myself, my father and our supplier that can figure things out for my needs.
I have Workmen's Comp. One third they pay for the rest I do. I found a chair on eBay and I'm really considering buying. It's used with some problems that my dad can surely fix! At least I'll get something in my price range that my dad can fix and I'm considering about retrofitting A seating frame that lays flat to the chair Frame. I don't know.... thats my best option...
