    "Antibiotics" are one of the first things mentioned to justify the spread of "techno-scientific-modernity", and the commensurate meme that mythologizes "progress" as our savior. Oh how tragically ironic it will be if the number of people aided by antibiotics, over the past hundred years or so, becomes dwarfed by the number harmed in the coming centuries. At some point the human species will relearn the perennial lesson about the relationship between hubris and unintended consequences.
