Well, I watched the video several times...

This design will not work for most of CareCure's members. It would take a major redesign to make this workable for people who cannot walk, stand, or balance. Plus, the price range is prohibitive.

To the OP (Geetrike)--I do have some constructive advice for your design. You would do well to add some negative camber to the rear drive wheels (2%-4% should do.) This should greatly aid in stability and handling of your trike. Note: your design is only good for able bodied persons, not us.

Thanks for understanding guys, we were thinking in similar design like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2lZUWdIJMc. So its simple functional: it can shape to small size if you need ride to office or magazine and unshape to bigger size if you need to ride fast. And you even dont need the wheelchair as baggage. Didnt mean to be impolite at forum, just we entered with "zero" concept, which means we searching for ideas and points. What do you think about this ?
    Kind Regards,Alexander

How do you figure that?? In that video, it was an AB person using this vehicle. Someone who cannot walk would not get out of it and walk into a building. A person who uses a wheelchair would need to take their wheelchair with them (loaded in a place where they could get it themselves without help) once they arrive. Obviously you have not thought this through for the population which frequents our forums, and you know little or nothing about mobility disabilities.

His posts do not meet criteria for banning. Moderators will take care of this if indicated, which it is not at this time.

Exactly. You can't ban someone for having no clue. Plus its a better option to GIVE them a clue.

Like SCI Nurse pointed out, you DO need the wheelchair "baggage" as you can't just go take the bike inside a store or destination and get around. So yes, for our community, you need a way to attach a wheelchair to bring with you and be able to get in and out of it. You might want to take a look at handcycle designs and information on wheelchair attachments to handcycles if marketing to our community interests you. On top of issues with trying to navigate around somewhere in something larger than a wheelchair (and space wise it can be very difficult to navigate many areas IN your wheelchair), wheelchairs come with custom seating that conforms to the users needs. You really don't want to try to replace that, it would be far more expensive than you realize to replicate and very few in the community would have the kind of money to buy something like that in addition to their wheelchair. We're talking $1k custom backs, $500 custom wheelchair cushions (of which there are MANY brands and options because of all of the different needs) required for long term use. Many people need to be able to use their custom cushion inside their car, or handbike because even those short periods of time can cause severe problems if you're prone to pressure ulcers. If you don't want to be the one accessing these custom backs and cushions for the individual, you'd still need to be able to provide something thats compatible with all of these options. Don't even consider trying to ditch or replace the wheelchair. If you want to market to THIS market, you need to learn to work WITH the chair.
