    Leo Hallan Passed Away

I haven't been on here in quite a few years. Sad to say that Dad had a respiratory arrest and passed away last night. I know that he had a strong community of friends here on CareCure and I wanted to make sure that you were aware of his passing. I will get back on tomorrow with details of a memorial service...

My condolences to you and your family. I did not have the pleasure of knowing your father, but I do know the pain of losing a parent and I wish you strength and comfort.

Leo was a great guy. Sad news. My condolences.

Leo had the avitar consisting of the be-speckled monkey face. I remember him well.
He always had an intelligent thing to say.
We lost a good member, and the world lost a good man.
He represented the best of us.

My deepest condolences to you and your family. My real name is Chris Olson, and your father visited me and got me involved in the South Dakota Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Research Council. I don't even know what to say...this is so sad. Your father was such an inspiring, hopeful, and great man. I'm a better person for having known him.

So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I was fortunate to get to know him a little. He contacted me about a fundraiser he wanted to promote. I sent him a banner and he later passed along a pic, and his thoughts on the event.

    This is from our eBulletin-

Thank you, Leo! Riverboat Days, Yankton, South Dakota

"Here I am for the second time, set up besides the street one block from our annual festival, "Riverboat Days." Weather was great! Raised just short of $150. It was fun because I enjoy people watching. One friend stopped by and asked what I was doing and this came out, "I'm giving people the opportunity to do the right thing."

Interesting thing was that many younger people gave; "I don't have a dollar but I cleaned this change from my car", and handed me $5.25. Pretty cool!

So sorry to hear the sad news about Leo, he was one of the good guys and CC will miss him. I spent time with him in DC during the 2005 Rally, he was a sweet soul but a fierce fighter too! Deepest condolences to you, your family and all of Leo's friends.
