    Removing Surge LT Handrims

I want to take my Surge LT handrims off my Spinergy (540)wheels and replace with a set of Anodized handrims from another aluminum(540) wheel from another wheelchair. Does anyone know if I have to take the tire and tube off to do this or is it as simple as removing the nut on the outside of the LT handrims and transferring the Anodized handrim on?

To remove tab-mounted handrims, the tire, tube, & rim tape need to be removed so the bolts can come out of the tabs.

You will have to pull it all apart. I wish they had never invented tab mounts, but maybe there is some size flexibility with them.
I have had periodic paralysis all my life. I lost my ability to walk in 2011 beginning with a spinal block, which was used for a hip fracture caused by periodic paralysis.

Can I use the existing bolts on the Spinergy wheels or should I replace with the the bolts from the other chair?

You may reuse the bolts and nuts. I always use either standard nuts with Loctite or nylock nuts to prevent fasteners from working themselves loose.
