Unfortunately, my injury is T12. Give me some steel, and I'll scare you with what I'll make with my MIG welder, chop saw, and drill press!

Aluminum beckons, but I got rid of my lathe-not enough space and no TIG.

To the welders: how many cushions have you popped with weld-spatter?

Me, only one gel cushion, and I had one melt a hole in my leg-bag tubing-boy, that laytex really stinks when it burns!

This is why you need to learn TIG! No spattering. I'll try to take some pictures of my setup at the house this weekend. I have my welding table on a cart at a height that suits me. I lean on my elbows and have a piece of PVC pipe on the table edge to create a slick elbow travel surface as I move along the welds. I do have some weld-x arm sleeves but have still burned the undersides of my arms on occasion. I can't feel hot/cold and have diminished sensation on the undersides of my arms. Toasted my forearm once after welding a crack together on an outboard, I moved it after I was done and didn't give it enough time to cool. Two days later someone at work asked me what I did to my arm and I was like wtf? Didn't even notice it. Now sawdust on parts of my cushion is a different story...
