Wheelchair Lemon Law or Advocacy Group For Dysfunctional Equipment?

Is there any organization, law, advocacy group, etc., which holds wheelchair manufacturers accountable for shoddy equipment?

The thought of having to fight with this chair ~ and the manufacturer ~ for another four years until eligible for a replacement is depressing at best.

Would the insurance company and government agency (OVR) who funded the original chair be of any assistance? OVR has been contacted as of late due to a safety issue and the lack of response from the manufacturer, but we have not yet pursued assistance from the insurance company.

Any thoughts, suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated.

there are lemonlaws that relate to medical devices including wheelchairs. These are state laws that vary.
