    Question Something weird going on

My right shoulder and my neck are feeling off since this morning.
It's hard to describe in what way they feel off. It's not pain really. More a strange sensation of discomfort. Also less strenght. My right side is my stronger one. Usually I'm able to push my right shoulder forward a bit but I've been unable to do that today. Even the usually good shrug ability I have on the right is much more difficult and I can only get it as far up as my left side. Turning my head gives me a feeling of resistance. When I try to bend my head forward even a bit I lose the ability to hold it and it just drops down. Usually I can get about halfway down before that happens. Also mild AD when I move my shoulder.
I don't really have a clue what could be going on. The only thing I can think of is that I maybe hurt something?
I can trigger a spasm that pulls my shoulders back. I use it for pressure relief, mostly when I'm in my chair but also in bed sometimes. This morning I did while still in bed and the spasm I triggered was a pretty strong one that wouldn't ease up for a few minutes. Could I have pulled something that could cause this?
    Anybody got any ideas? Thanks.

Have you had a recent ultrasound of your gall bladder? Right shoulder pain can be referred from the gall bladder.

    No recent gall bladder ultrasound.
But it's not pain (and pain is the only normal sensation I do have on my shoulders) I feel on my shoulder, just a hard to describe, vague discomfort. And the lack of strength/loss of movement.

It hasn't gotten any better, rather the opposite. Couldn't lay on my right side last night, had AD when I tried. Spent the night on my left side which wasn't very comfortable either cause we had a hard time supporting my arm/shoulder in a way that made the discomfort go away. Today I pretty much completely lacked the strength to shrug my right shoulder at all. My wife says she can feel the muscles engage when I try but I can't accomplish more than a slight upward 'twitch'. My shoulder was also really hypersensitive today.
I made a appointment with my doc for Monday . Maybe he can figure out what's going on. This worries me to say the least.
Still hoping for some ideas from here about what this could be.
    Thank you.

Sounds like you may possibly have a shoulder girdle or rotator cuff injury. Which physician are you seeing? A physiatrist or orthopedic surgeon would be the best option for a good physical exam, but often an MRI is needed to determine the location and extent of injuries.

I'll be seeing my family doctor. Simply because I didn't have a clue what specialist to try make an appointment with. Which is also why I posted here to get some ideas. So thank you KLD for your suggestions, gives me a starting point.

    Update

So saw my family doc on Monday and physiatrist today.
Family doc did gallbladder ultrasound cause I mentioned KLDs suggestion, turned out fine, and had a look at my upper back and shoulders. Suggested I see the physiatrist. Physiatrist today checked out my upper back/shoulders/neck, mentioned some tightness and swelling. She thinks it's the rhomboid I strained with the spasm I can trigger. Got a bit of a lecture about that Have a MRI referral but there's at least a14 day wait time.
For now she says rest my shoulder and ice/heat on the back of it, whatever 'feels' better.
That sounds good to you CC people? Or any other suggestions? Thanks.
