Thread: Am I the only one who pops wheelies while on my mini van lift?

    Unfortunately, there are limits on how long the ramp is & how low the van can go. Longer & lower would decrease the steepness & increase the safety but cause problems in other areas. Tradeoffs as usual.

    As I understand it the problem is that if the ramp is extended farther to reduce the slope there would not be enough room in ADA van parking spaces to get the wheelchair on the end of the ramp. Some people have installed a winch to pull their chair into the ramp because they were not strong enough to push up it. That would probably prevent tipping too. I really would like to see a regular van lift for minivans instead of ramps.
