how do you guys pay PA's while vacationing?

By the hour or flat rate? I'm brining someone for a weekend getaway but she'll just work a few hours a day and then she can hang at the beach and pool.

I would work out a package deal if you are covering other expenses like room, meals, and transportation. Consider that she will not be able to do other work for compensation when she is on the trip with you.

Never had Pa. The deal sounds practical as a starting point. Figure out what it would cost however you pay now as maximum starting point. Probably also figure the minimum. Then maybe you can work in between those 2 numbers. This may mean you are giving "free money" while sitting on beach, but it could be a fair start.

We paid my mother's live-in PCA a weekly rate, so that did not differ if she traveled with her, and we of course also picked up her travel expenses (hotel, meals, etc.) when she was with my mother, but if she was off on her own (while my dad or I stayed with my mother) then those expenses were on her own too.

I would at least start there. But I would not cover the day-to-day expenses like meals that she has to pay for when at home.

And then decide what other expenses you will and will not cover such as meals, room, etc. that will result from the trip.
