Thread: Incision from leg surgery won't close (2 years)

    Actually, in people with SCI, TED hose do little to prevent DVT, and if worn incorrectly, can cause both DVT and skin breakdown. Jobst are used both for DVT prevention and edema control. Regardless, compression over an open fistula or tract on a leg is not generally a good idea.

    Thanks for the info Kld. I realize that you should not use either type of stocking over any type of open area but I'll have to tell my Dr what you said about Ted verse Jobst and that he is wrong.
