For functional purposes and quality of life, this is very interesting.

I would never accept to be involved in a risky brain surgery to get an electronic stuff in it allowing me to move my fingers as shown on the movie. As discussed in the exoskeleton topic and to my point of view, we don't want to be guinea pigs used to build robots of the future.
All we're asking is a treatment allowing us to improve our neurological condition using natural pathways.

Very interesting and great news. I would risk being a candidate for this inplantation. I wish this person the very best and look forward to more news in coming months. Thank you for the information Grammy. It will also be interesting if he has improved blatter and bowel function too.

There's no way he'll have improved bladder or bowel from this. The electrode just hooks his brain directly to his hand and allows it to contract via (I'm assuming) FES.

    Very impressive technology regardless.

Again, for quality of life, if I were able to use my hands even partially would be a huge step up!
