    High pressures on Roho cushion

I'm looking for some advice regarding my Roho cushion. Basically, I have been mapped and it's showing fairly high pressures no matter how much I adjust the cushion. I spoke to Roho and they told me that just because mapping shows hotspots, that doesn't necessarily mean you are going to develop sores. However, I wanted to get some advice on my situation and ask if there's anything else I can do apart from just pray and hope I don't run into problems. It's a little bit disconcerting, I'm sitting on what is supposed to be the best question in the world for stopping pressure sores, and it doesn't look as if I am that well protected now. It's basically because I've got quite a bony backside with prominent sit bones, don't suppose there's much I can do about it.

I don't think there is any cushion that will eliminate 100% of the pressure indicated on a pressure mapping device. Your Roho cushion, if properly inflated and adjusted to you, will help relieve pressure and minimize your vulnerability to pressure sores. But, there is always going to be a chance of developing a pressure sore. The key is to make sure the cushion is properly adjusted to you and maintain the adjustment with daily checks. Your profile says you are a quad. Do you have any way of doing pressure shifts, i.e., tilt in space or reclining power wheelchair, other? Pressure relief/weight shifts can reduce your chances of developing a pressure sore.

There are some after market products (pressure gauges) that I have read about.

I can recommend John Crow's pressure checker; I've had mine for 3+ years. It also will allow you to adjust pressure while checking.
