    Faster wi-fi on the way

    NEW YORK (CNNMoney)
A new, faster version of Wi-Fi was officially rubber-stamped Wednesday.

The latest Wi-Fi technology, called "802.11ac," offers speeds of up to 1.3 Gigabits per second. That's fast enough to transfer an entire high-definition movie to a tablet in under 4 minutes, share photo albums with friends in a matter of seconds or stream three HD videos at the same time. It's more than double the top speed of the previous standard, known as 802.11n.

I got 1.5 and I don't mean Gigabytes, that's all my old country phone line will handle, have fun with it all you city folk.
And I'm the envy of my friends who live a little bit farther out, they have to rely on satellite Internet, and nobody likes that.

I've tried to use this tech, bought a Buffalo Tech router and wireless Bridge to hook my xbox up to.

Had to send both back into Buffalo because they would not connect. I have been told since early March, by RMA tech support, that the Bridge is on backorder. Starting to think they are just bullshitting me along, getting really pissed off, they keep promising me "they found one" and will send it right out. Riiiggghhhhht....

    Don't buy Buffalo Technology.

55, I don't mean to steal your thunder. I would wait for 802.11ad to come out.
