Revel Hotel and Casino Atlantic City Anyone?

Has anyone stayed, gambled, eaten at or visited the new Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ? Thanks.

Visited it last week actually. Just looked at it really. Stayed at a different hotel. The Revel is at the far end of the boardwalk. Not very central to the other casinos and they are still working on the beach. Looks very upscale like the Borgata.

Stayed at revel and was very disappointed. Its more of a resort and very out of place. Everything there is upscale, rooms are great, and obv new. However, it's about a ten min push from the rooms to the casino and another 10 min push to the restaurants. If I'm going to push for over 10 min I expect a great meal...the food was terrible. Also there is nothing going on there. it's completely dead. All of Atlantic city has been pretty quiet but the revel is empty!! I guess there's a reason they are bankrupt.

The boardwalk got pretty beat up. Slowly making a comeback.

Thx for the quick responses. I had heard the Revel property was vast and the rooms were a long distance from the casino and you worked up an appetite trying to get to the restaurants. I also read they filed for Ch. 11 and service was generally slow. I called them yesterday and it was over a 30 minute wait on the phone to speak to a human being so the automated voice advised me to leave my phone number and someone would call me right back. Nobody ever called back.

Back in 2005 we stayed at Caesars and it is in a good location on the Boardwalk but the hotel kind of sucked. It was dead in there. I recall the Tropicana was a lively place at that time but never saw the rooms there.

I wasn't sure if the Boardwalk was still beat up or fully restored now. I know the Borgata is a nice place but not on the Boardwalk. Any suggestions what AC hotel/casino is good for someone in a wheelchair? Thanks.

Most of the AC boardwalk is up and running as of last week, including the amusement piers.

I've stayed in the Trump (forget which one, but we had an ocean view), Showboat, and the Flagship. The first two are OK and are located right on the main part of the boardwalk. Flagship is a time-share place. No casino, but they run a WC accessible shuttle to many other casinos. Rooms are very accessible and affordable. Neighborhood is kinda grubby though.

The Borgata is also very upscale, but you need to drive to get to the boardwalk. If you only want to gamble and eat, it's fine.

I go to AC somewhat often. Similar experiences with Revel. Too big, confusing, it is very nice though.

My personal favorite is Borgata. Always jumping - yes away from Boardwalk but when I'm there I have no reason to leave. Everything you want is there.

But if you are looking to hop around casinos yes you want to be on Boardwalk. Showboat is a good option, and next to Revel so you can check it out if you wanted to. Bally's is similar to Showboat. The Trop is nice too down at the other end. Caesars is overpriced, I wouldn't recommend.

And don't forget the Jitney. Decent shuttle service and most have lifts, but not all.
