What I do for fun, and how you can too.

I've been an avid Autocrosser with the SCCA, Sports Car Club of America, for the last few years, and thought I would share a little with you all.

A little history from the early days: http://www.miata.net/motm/2007/thomson.html

All of this to prove that all of you can do cool stuff. I'm a C6-7 complete, and while it is a struggle to get in/out, occasionally I need a little assistance, it's well worth it.

    Do something ambitious.

Looks great. Hey can you use the para hand controls or do you need the more sophisticated ones?

Para hand controls with a U cuff on the steering wheel.

Fun! I was just outside working on my track car. I've entertained thoughts about doing some w2w racing with a Miata. Is yours automatic?

Andrew, That video was awesome!!!! The way your C4 swallowed up those Miatas, my brethren, was incredible!!

Your instructor looked like a very good guy too, I loved his applause when you nailed the line up to and under the bridge.

Mine is an auto, and I need to fine tune it some. I just switched my intake setup over to IRTBs, and the lower vacuum draw is seriously messing with my shift points.

Your trans shifts by vacuum? Mine had a governor with weights to adjust and I tried that but a down shift could still be forced mid-corner. I decided to try an air shifter and that has been working well. I put the up and down shift button right on the steering wheel. There also is an RPM switch that can be added. It's full manual now!

Chuck was a great instructor. I would have liked more ride along time but that was just a TT competition check out ride. I was approved for a comp license after that. Those Miata's had some friendly competition going on, it was fun to watch.
